Athlone Outreach 1st June 2024

The Lord told Jerimiah, “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb, I set you apart as my prophet to the nations” the Lord then touched Jeremiah’s mouth and said, “look I have put my words in your mouth”! with this confidence in the Lord the team met for prayer. There was a tremendous sense of freedom as we pressed into God for the community of Athlone, knowing that others were also praying brought an amazing confidence and boldness even before we went out.

The Lord also told Jerimiah that He had given him authority to build up, and to pull down, to plant and to overthrow – as the gospel is preached the hold of the enemy over people’s lives is pulled down, and his kingdom overthrown.

When we got to the street and set up the table with bibles, and tracts people were drawn by the music and came over to engage the team. The work here in Athlone has been a consistent work over the last 2 years and it was a delight to see people that had previously received the truth of God’s love bringing with them friends and partners. One such man whose brother was prayed for healing of cancer recently while ministering in a local housing estate, testified that his brother’s healing was still complete. People opened freely and many needs were prayed for by the team, two Ukrainian teenagers were led to the Lord in prayer as they acknowledged their need of Him. Overall, there was a sense of ease as people came drawn by the Holy Spirit, it is such a privilege to be available for God to use, to bring a word of encouragement, a word of love and just to be there for people. The Hebrew word for almond, shaked, is also translated “to watch”. By seeing the almond branch, God assured Jeremiah that He is watching over His word to bring it to pass and as the team ministered Gods word on the streets of Athlone it was so encouraging to meet people who previously had accepted God’s Word and to see the power of God at work within their lives.
