Roscrea Outreach
The Gospel of John chapter 21 gives the account of when Jesus meeting the disciples coming back after been fishing all night and catching nothing; not recognising Him as he stood on the seashore.
Jesus called out to them “have you caught any fish”, after they had replied no, Jesus again said to them; “throw out your nets on the other side of the boat, and you will catch some.
The disciples threw their nets out and caught such a large catch, that they had to call to the other boat for help to bring the nets in. When they arrive on the shore Jesus called out to them, “now come and have some breakfast”.
This story is a wonderful illustration of operating under the instructions of Jesus and working in unity with others to accomplish the task for which Jesus directed. Being obedient the catch was large, and Jesus met them on the seashore with refreshments.
Yesterday as we partnered with Oasis Christian fellowship the sense of unity in the air was palatable God’s Spirit was all over every aspect of the day. The hospitality, oneness of spirit, and the new friendships and connections that were made openly declared; “God was in our midst”!
Psalm 133 states, “that where brothers dwell in unity there - God commands the blessing”! – twenty-two on fire spirit filled believers took to the streets of Roscrea yesterday with one purpose in mind – To reach the community with the transforming power of the good news that Jesus saves.
Wow! Wow! Wow! what a day, the people of Roscrea were so appreciative that people would take time out to just come and be a blessing to them.
Many people heard the gospel, many people were led to the Lord in prayer, and many people were prayed with for personal and family circumstances. The move of God’s Spirit was so evident as people were touched very deeply, as words of knowledge, and wisdom spoke into their lives, and God’s Spirit ministered to their hearts - Only Jesus could do this as Christ within us reached out and touched people’s lives.
The local church had a list of over 20 names to pray and follow up with and to continue the work God had started.
This is how our land is going to be reached with the gospel, through partnership by local churches who make the Gospel front and centre of their curriculum. Peoples lives both inside and outside of the local church will be transformed, revolutionised, and set on fire - as the power of God unto salvation is released.
